General: Green Anacondas (Eunectes murinus) are found throughout South America. Anacondas can grow up to 30 feet in length and it is advisable that you know what you are getting yourself into when you purchase a snake that grows this large.. They are the second longest snake in the world. Baby anacondas measure between 20 and 34 inches in length and grow rapidly. Anacondas can give birth to 75 live young after a gestation period of 5-8 months. These snakes can live up to 30 years

Enclosure: Due to the size that these snakes grow it is best to build a room sized enclosure complete with a bath as these snakes love water.

Substrate:Use bark, coconut husk or cypress mulch as a substrate which can be moistened to imitate their natural habitat.

Temperature:Anacondas require an ambient daytime temperature of around 84 degrees with a hot spot of 90 degrees with a drop to between 75 and 80 degrees at night time. Humidity should be maintained at between 75 and 90% which can be accomplished by daily misting.

Feeding:Anaconda juveniles will feed on fuzzy or hopper mice. As your snake grows move it up to rats, rabbits and small pigs. Feed hatchling and juvenile anacondas every 4 days. Adults can be fed appropriately sized prey items every 7-10 days.

Cleaning:Clean your Anacondas room and disinfect it thoroughly at least once a month. Remove fecal matter as it appears. Always ensure that clean water is available.

DO NOT HANDLE LARGE ANACONDAS ALONE!!
